Hey Grandpa what's for supper?
Turkey and Grandma Granger's sage dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, turnip greens and hot rolls. Yum Yum!
A Dragon Training Christmas
It's a quiet Christmas around the Hardin house with nearly grown Catherine being the only kid left in the house to open gifts. Catherine fell in love with the movie How to Train Your Dragon this year, so many of her gifts were dragon themed. She got the DVD, the sound track, and a blanket.
Terri and Catherine bought Mike a copy of George W. Bush's new book, Decision Points.
Now it's all over except for cleaning up the wrapping paper and preparing way too much food for three people.
We miss Jonathon, Chantay, and Andre, and hope they are having a great Christmas in Germany and in Michigan. Hopefully we can all be together for Christmas some year in the not too distant future.
In the mean time, from our family to yours, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Catherine's New Job
Catherine has been looking for work for several months. Like many in today's economy, she has found work hard to come by. She's put in numerous applications and been on several interviews. A couple of months ago she was asked to come in for an interview at I Heart NY Pizza near her high school. She went to the interview all excited, but came home upset. Rather than being interviewed, she was just asked to write down the hours she was available.
A couple of months has passed by and she has heard nothing. Then on Wednesday, while she was out putting in another application, the manager called and asked for her to come in again. She went in after five o'clock today, Christmas Eve, and trained to work on the register. The manager told her he'd put her on the schedule for next week. I think for her that is better than any present we were able to put under the tree.
